OK, this week's episode of Parenthood had a lot of little things going on, sort of continuations of previous issues and setting up for future ones. Nothing was really a stand out moment.
Sarah finds out her son was given beer by his Grandfather at Thanksgiving and then had some school friends around to drink beer. She is concerned they may end up like their father who is an alcoholic.
Adam decided to invite Hattie's boyfriend, Alex, over for dinner and they are very impressed with his honesty but are concerned he is too old for their 16 year old daughter and his issues of alcoholism are also to adult for her to be dealing with at this age. They ban her from seeing him anymore, but of course, she ignores them.
Crosby is learning what it means to be a real Dad and not just best friends with Jabbar, when he has to discipline him.
As a side story, Julia (who I don't like) and Joel (the most under-used character in the show, and when he is in it, he is constantly having to be told what to do by his wife) have to deal with the concept of death with their daughter when a bird smashes into a window and Julia goes against Joel (surprise! - NOT!) and talks about heaven.
So all in all, not a bad episode but not a good one either. However, the stories being set up look like this will be excellent viewing in the future.
