This is one of the simplest storylines and one of the deepest.
Firstly, there is the death of a soldier at a school after running a recruitment day. As the story unfolds, it is revealed he is Gay so the story touches on being Gay in the US Defence Forces with Don't Ask, Don't Tell, because he has been having an affair with a married man, there is the hatred of the wife towards him.
Then Director Vance makes a return from his gunshot wound and reveals he is tired of doing his job. Is he going to leave after all? I love the way he and Gibbs interact.
Ziva is still seeing her new man and his first name of Ray is revealed. How will Tony deal with this?
Lastly, this episode has the wonderful Bob Newhart guest star as Dr Magnus, Ducky's predecessor. However, it is revealed he has Alzeimer's. This is dealt with dignity and is incredibly touching.
You will pick the killer from a mile away, but the main story seems to be secondary to all the wonderful storylines going on.
Another brilliant episode of NCIS.
