One of my favourite romantic comedies is 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler and the wonderful Ms Drew Barrymore whom I simply love. The movie is funny but especially touching, just a wonderfully written script that was lovingly acted by everyone involved.
As the credits roll there is this heartbreaking song, a version of the Judy Garland classic from The Wizard Of Oz, Somewhere Over The Rainbow. This version is brought to us from the amazing voice of Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole.
I hunted for the soundtrack to 50 First Dates and was about to buy it when I discovered this beautiful song isn't even on the album!
Thank the Goddess for iTunes! I was able to track down this song off Isreal's album, Facing Future, but it's an extended version that segues into Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World. What a bargain! Everyone should own a copy of this song! If you don't like the movie, you must not be romantic, nut if you don't like this song, you don't have a heart!
