Harry is defending a man accussed of murdering his wife when she finds out that he has one of her fingers in a safety deposit box! Being the woman of morals that she is, she tries to get off the case. She can't defend someone who is guilty! Of course she is not allowed to just quit. So, she throws the case and tells the jury that her client is guilty! She ends up being in contempt of court, thrown in a cell and facing the very real possibility of being permanently disbarred.
Meanwhile, Malcolm is put in an awkward position of wearing a wire while buying drugs when he finds out the target is an old school friend who stood up for him and saved his life.
This was a sleight episode of Harry's Law. Not as amazingly impressive as previous episodes. That is until Harry's speech to try and convince the bar not to disbar her. David E. Kelly is such a brilliant writer. This speech made the whole episode worth watching.
And I am sure Malcolm's final decision will come back to bite him later in the series.
