Supernatural - The Man Who Knew Too Much

The final episode of season six.  For a series that was going to end after five seasons, it is able to uphold it's storyline of rewriting religion for the masses where angels and demons fight hand to hand.  This episode is the aftermath of Sam and Dean stopping the apocalypse, which was supposed to be a good thing.  However, in the void that was left, Crowley came to prominence and wanted all the souls in purgatory but he needed Castiel's help to do it.  Together, they needed the blood of Ellie, who Castiel had finally tracked down last episode.  The boys and Bobby try to rescue her but she dies from her wounds from Crowley.  Castiel tries to get the boys to back off, to trust him but they want to stop Crowley and thus him.  In an effort to stop them, Cas fractures Sam's mind and Sam must gather himself within his mind and the knowledge of his stay in the Cage in order to return.
Meanwhile Balthazar betrays his brother Castiel by revealing the whereabouts of Crowley to the boys.  When Castiel finds out, he kills Balthazar!!  WTF!!??!!  I really liked Balthazar too.  When Bobby and Dean arrive where Crowley is, he sends Demons to attack them.  Castiel is furious.  Throughout everything, he has stipulated that Crowley must leave the boys alone.  He attacks Crowley but finds he can't hurt him because Crowley has betrayed Castiel.   He has joined forces with Castiel's nemesis, Raphael.  With seemingly no option, Castiel gives up Ellie's blood and Crowley performs the spell to open purgatory.... but nothing happens?  You see Cas was no fool either and he betrayed Crowley by switching the blood.  He opened purgatory and absorbed all the souls himself.  He destroys Raphael but not before Crowley escapes (to fight another season?!).  Just then Sam arrives and tries to stop Castiel by stabbing him with an angel blade, but once again, nothing happens.
Castiel has changed.
The season finishes with Castiel proclaiming himself the new God and demands that the boys bow down before him and profess their love for him or he will destroy them!!
What a finish!  What will the new season hold?  And will the real God stand up and take Castiel to task?  Will the boys have to fight God now?  The writers really know how to twist a great story!  I really love this show.  Just brilliant!
