King Kong - Original Soundtrack

Peter Jackson's 'King Kong' would have to be one of the most under-appreciated films and I must say soundtracks ever.  While I hate the delivery of the final line, the film is beautifully made and richly detailed.  It is a testament to Peter Jackson's love for the original film.  Movie Composer, James Newton Howard (the new Batman movies), has created a very special soundtrack to capture the majesty of Kong and the huge story set in a bygone era.
While being modern, it's sound makes you think of the 1930's.  "It's In The Subtext" is a beautiful piece that evokes the wonder of Kong but also starts to build the trepidation of what is to come.  It is the sound of The Venture on the water and it is done with the amazing strings of the orchestra.
My favourite piece is 'Central Park', from the scene with Kong and Anne playing on the ice.  It is stunning in it's quite simplicity.
I must say, that I love this soundtrack and I do play it regularly.  If you haven't listened to it because you may have been put off by the film or it's reviews, do yourself a favour and grab a copy.  Maybe you should give the film another go too!
