The second last episode of the season, sees the Glee club preparing for the Nationals in New York when tragedy strikes someone near to them. In order to win, Will hires Jesse St James to coach the team to win Nationals and he suggests they pick the strongest singer and build the performances around that person. Of course, Santana, Mercedes and Kurt go up against Rachel but Jesse just rubbishes them (even through they are all excellent) as he wants Rachel to be the winner, and to get back with her.
Meanwhile, it is revealed that Sue's Down Syndrome afflicted sister, Jean, has passed away and Sue is devastated. She doesn't know what to do to handle this great loss to her. She loved her sister so much. She sacks Becky from the Cheerios and reroutes the Glee Club's airline tickets to New York via Tripoli!! Finn and Kurt offer to clear up Jeans belongings and Sue just wants everything thrown away. The boys offer to organise Jean's funeral and while going through her belongings, they discover Jean's favourite movie was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, so they create a Wonka themed funeral which Sue is overwhelmed by and is incredibly thankful to the Glee club and Will for all they they did.
Afterwards, Finn breaks up with Quinn so he can pursue Rachel and Will decides to go against Jesse and let the club perform original songs as a group effort.
The National are upon us!
